Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a personal auto policy in force with at least one vehicle with physical damage on it, your auto policy should carry over to your rental car. Call you agent if you have any specific questions.

In general, auto policies cover a specific car.  If you’re driving someone else’s car with their permission and were in an accident, the owner of the car’s insurance would be the primary coverage.  If the damages went beyond what their policy would pay, your insurance could provide secondary coverage.

The answer to this is probably yes. The policy states the size of vehicle that is covered.  Usually this limits the gross vehicle weight to less than 10,000-12,000 lbs.  It would be best to discuss this with your agent.
